The True Story Of How Dan Bilzerian Got Rich To Live Ridiculous Lifestyle

The 'King of Instagram' doesn't put all his eggs in one basket

Ever wondered where Dan Bilzerian got all his cash from and how he comes to live the luxurious lifestyle that he does? Of course you have - so read on.

Bilzerian, who earned himself the nickname of King of Instagram, has been a bit quiet on the social media platform of late, but prior to that he was turning all our eyes green with envy as he showed off his flashy lifestyle.

Bilzerian is a poker player, businessman, social media influencer and has even got a few acting credits to his name.

But where did it all start for the gun-toting playboy? Well, he was born on 7 December 1980 in Tampa, Florida to an Armenian father and American mother.

Bilzerian's father Paul was a corporate raider on Wall Street who provided both Dan and his brother, Adam, with trust funds.

However, Paul’s wealth took a hit in the 1980s when he was convicted of fraud and served 13 months in jail as well as being ordered to pay a fine of $1.5 million (£1.1m). Paul has always maintained his innocence.

Bilzerian has previously acknowledged that he inherited some of his money from a trust fund from his dad, but has declined to reveal just how much.

Nonetheless, growing up with a businessman dad seems to have had an influence on Bilzerian who now runs Ignite - a company that sells CBD oils, e-cigarettes, vodka and other products.

According to Forbes, the company registered a net income of $3.1 million (£2.3m) in the fourth quarter of 2020 - having previously experienced a pretty rough time in 2019 and most of 2020.

This is the last Instagram post Bilzerian posted on Instagram.

As well as following in his dad’s corporate footsteps and running his own business, Bilzerian is also a professional poker player - taking part in top events including World Series of Poker Main Event - and making some pretty big wins in the process.

In 2013, Bilzerian claimed he won $10.8 million (£8.1m) in a single night of playing poker, and in 2014 he claimed to have won $50 million (£37m) in 12 months.

Meanwhile, his popularity on social media led to him landing a book deal. He released his autobiography The Setup last year.

Bilzerian has also made several appearances on screen - one of which didn’t go quite to plan.

In 2013, he famously sued the producers of Lone Survivor after they broke their end of the bargain to give Dan eight minutes of screen-time and 80 words of dialogue in exchange for a $1 million (£750,000) loan. Bilzerian ended up appearing in the film for less than one minute.

The lawsuit was later dropped, and it was reported that Bilzerian made $1.5 million (£1.1m) in revenue thanks to the film’s success - with or without his eight minutes of screen time.
